| Welcome to Six-Feet.com |
all-inclusive informational site regarding the treatment of the birth defect known as clubfoot . Focusing primarily on the Ponseti Method of correction, Six-Feet has become the model for other sites copy. it, and for those of you who doubt the Method's validity, reliability, or authenticity, is endorsed by the following organizations:
As suggested by such a strong, growing list of backers, this method of clubfoot correction is a viable option to the traditional non-Ponseti surgical approach still widely used today. When used properly by trained professionals, the Ponseti Method of clubfoot treatment boasts a 97% non- surgical success rate in the United States as well as in many countries abroad. Created, researched, written and published by the mother of three children born with bilateral clubfeet (meaning both feet have the condition), Six-Feet.com is the only site on the internet that offers factual information given from a first-hand-experience, real-life point of view. Why do I do it? Because once upon a time I needed a website like this and it didn't exist. Sadly, out-dated correction methods still abound today in main stream medicine, including many of the Shrine Hospitals despite their over all endorsement of the Ponseti Method. As bad as that, if not worse, is the fact that so many doctors now claim to use the Method but in fact do not. A modified Ponseti Method is NOT the Ponseti Method and parents need to be very aware that they are liable to get a cheap and ineffective imitation if they are not careful.
correcting the clubfoot deformity with out surgery. Anyone who says otherwise, including your doctor, must be considered either untrained or uneducated, therefore it is your job as the parent to educate yourself so you may save your child from the barbaric non-Ponseti alternatives. Please explore this ever-growing web site with both hope and optimism that clubfoot is not a handicap, it is merely a temporary inconvenience that can be easily, quickly and permanently overcome. If you are looking for a specific piece of information, or perhaps a specific doctor's name, you may easily search this site using the search box located at the top of the page.
