The Dr. Dobbs
Clubfoot Brace

A New Dynamic
Foot Abduction Orthosis
for Clubfoot Treatment
After a long time living in the laboratory and being tested on actual
patients, the Dobbs Dynamic Foot Abduction Brace is finally making
some headway in the real world as part of the follow up bracing
protocol necessary to the success of the Ponseti Method.

Unlike the bars that have been used up until
this point, the Dobbs Dynamic bar, often
referred to as the Dobbs Articulating Bar,
allows each leg to have independent
    movement while maintaining the prescribed
degrees of rotation and dorsiflexion in the
    affected feet.

The Dobbs Dynamic Orthosis is now being used with several different
types of clubfoot shoes:  The plastic AFO variety Dobbs created to
go with this bar, the Markell shoe and the Mitchell shoe.

Below are some photos of Sammy who was treated by Dr. Dobbs
using the Ponseti Method.  Sammy uses the Dobbs Dynamic Foot
Abduction Brace and his mother is very satisfied with it to date.

under the toes for stability.
This is a wonderful photo of Sammy, and
demonstrates how you can measure and set
the length of the bar to shoulder width apart.
These three photos were provided by Dr. Dobb's clinic, demonstrating
children wearing the articulating bar.
